Infrared Technology Overview
Infrared (IR) is part of the electromagnetic spectrum ranging from 0.76μm to 1000μm, positioned just beyond the visible red light spectrum. While invisible to the human eye, infrared radiation shares properties with visible light: it travels at light speed, can be directed and focused, and propagates effectively even in vacuum conditions.
When objects absorb infrared radiation, internal heat generation occurs as IR causes atomic vibration within the material, raising its temperature. Notably, infrared heating does not require any medium such as air or water to transfer thermal energy to substances.
