According
to
the
service
environment
and
failure
analysis
of
cemented
carbide-coated
inserts,
when
the
hard
coating
is
combined
with
a
hard
substrate
(tungsten-titanium-cobalt
carbide),
under
the
action
of
impact
load,
due
to
the
poor
toughness
of
the
substrate,
the
coating
will
be
damaged.
The
cracks
generated
in
the
process
are
easy
to
expand
into
the
matrix,
causing
the
blade
to
be
chipped
and
damaged
and
fail.
When
the
hard
coating
is
combined
with
a
soft
substrate
(tungsten-cobalt-based
cemented
carbide),
under
the
action
of
cutting
force,
due
to
the
poor
ability
of
the
substrate
to
resist
plastic
deformation,
the
coating
shell
is
prone
to
rupture,
causing
the
coating
to
fail.
As
the
cemented
carbide
used
in
cutting
tools,
its
representative
materials
are:
A. WC-Co type (tungsten cobalt type) cemented carbide;
B. WC-TiC(N)-Co type (tungsten titanium cobalt type) hard alloy Alloy;
