Description

    Heat pipe radiator is a new product produced by using heat pipe technology to make major improvements to many old radiators or heat exchange products and systems. There are two types of heat pipe radiators: natural cooling and forced air cooling. The thermal resistance of air-cooled heat pipe radiator can be made smaller, and it is often used in high-power power supplies.

Basically, a CPU heat sink is a component which helps the CPU to dissipate heat and ensure the stable operation. If the CPU is overheated, it will trigger the temperature protection mechanism, which can reduce performance. Sometimes when your device is running at high load (playing games or processing a lot of data), it occasionally shuts down, or even blue screen. In fact, the occurrence of this situation may not be something wrong with your computer, but because your CPU temperature reaches the maximum temperature limit, it will reduce the power, so as to reduce the temperature to protect the hardware and cause a freeze, so a good CPU heat sink is essential.

 


How effective are heat pipes?
Due to the very high heat transfer coefficients for boiling and condensation, heat pipes are highly effective thermal conductors. The effective thermal conductivity varies with heat pipe length, and can approach 100 kW/(m⋅K) for long heat pipes, in comparison with approximately 0.4 kW/(m⋅K) for copper.


How much power can a heat sink dissipate?

The product of collector current and voltage either side of this quiescent state produces less power dissipation, so 45 W is the maximum power dissipation to consider. This value is used below to calculate the heat sink


How do I know what size heatsink to get?
Volumetric Thermal Resistance (Rv) – This equation and subsequent guidelines have been shown to closely estimate heat sink volume: V=(Q*Rv)/Delta T. The first step in using the chart below is to know the available airflow across the heat sink. As you know, the higher the airflow the smaller the heat sink.

 

The heat pipe radiator has the following advantages:

  • The thermal response speed is fast, and its ability to transfer heat is more than 1000 times larger than that of copper pipes of the same size and weight;
  • Small size and light weight;
  • High heat dissipation efficiency, which can simplify the heat dissipation design of electronic equipment, such as changing air-cooling to self-cooling;
  • No external power supply is required, and no special maintenance is required during work;
  • It has good isothermal properties. After heat balance, the temperature gradient between the evaporation section and the cooling section is quite small, which can be approximately regarded as 0;
  • The operation is safe and reliable, and does not pollute the environment.
