The swing shaft is typically a large, robust shaft that runs horizontally through the center of the excavator's upper structure. It is supported by bearings at both ends to ensure smooth and reliable rotation. One end of the swing shaft connects to the swing motor, which generates the hydraulic power needed for rotation.
