Once manganese oxide powder is obtained, it undergoes electrolysis to extract pure metallic manganese. The key equipment used in this process includes:

Electrolytic cell
Anode and cathode
Aluminum electrode
Electrolyte solution (commonly ammonium chloride)
Power supply

In the electrolytic cell:

Manganese dioxide is introduced into a molten ammonium chloride solution.
At the cathode, manganese dioxide is reduced to manganese oxide and then further reduced to form pure metallic manganese.
At the anode, oxygen is released and can be recycled into the electrolyte solution.
