As a rubber component, the air spring is formed by vulcanizing cord layers with inner/outer rubber coatings or steel wire rings to create a flexible body. Its elastic function is achieved by containing compressed air. Commonly known as air springs, rubber airbags, or pneumatic bags.
The complete assembly consists of a rubber air spring, base plate, piston, and cushion mat, forming a sealed chamber when assembled.
Categorized into three types by shape: capsule, diaphragm, and sleeve styles. Four sealing methods are employed: pressure self-sealing, flange clamping, hoop fastening, and hybrid designs.
The shock absorber's load is primarily carried by the cord reinforcement. Standard products feature 2-ply cord construction, while special applications use 4-ply reinforcement. The inner rubber layer ensures sealing, while the outer layer provides both sealing and protective functions.
