Vitrified Super Abrasives
Product Overview
Ceramic-bonded superhard abrasive tools are manufactured through cold pressing and sintering processes that bond superhard abrasive particles into segments. These segments are then bonded and cured to a base material, followed by comprehensive post-processing. These tools offer the highest operating linear speed among all abrasive tools and withstand significant forces during operation.
Key Features & Benefits
- Maximum operating linear speeds up to 160 meters per second
- Utilizes steel or carbon fiber materials for ultra-high-strength bases
- Strong grinding ability with lower grinding temperatures
- Reduced tool wear with high durability and long service life
- Excellent resistance to heat, oil, water, acid, and alkali
- Porous material structure facilitates efficient chip removal
- Superior shape retention compared to resin-bonded tools
- Lower dressing costs than metal-bonded abrasive tools
- Easy online dressing capability
- Ideal for CNC machine tool applications
Technical Advantages
Vitrified bond features low hardness and can be easily dressed into various shapes to meet precision grinding and cutting requirements for hard-to-machine materials. The highly porous and adjustable structure enhances cooling and chip removal, providing excellent self-sharpening properties and high grinding/cutting efficiency while minimizing workpiece burn.
Applications
- High-speed grinding and cutting of PCB cutters and high-hardness metal alloys
- Low-speed lapping of hard-brittle non-metal materials including glass and crystals
Environmental & Performance Benefits
These tools demonstrate exceptional heat resistance, oil resistance, acid and base resistance, and are environmentally friendly, making them suitable for demanding industrial applications.
