The slewing motor of an excavator is the core hydraulic actuator that enables 360° rotation of the upper body. Its working principle is based on hydraulic transmission technology: high-pressure oil output by the hydraulic pump enters the motor interior, pushing the rotor (usually a piston or gear structure) to rotate around the central axis. Then, the speed is reduced and the torque is increased through a reduction mechanism (such as a planetary gear set), and finally, the power is transmitted to the slewing bearing to drive the upper structures such as the cab and boom to rotate stably.
During operation, it not only needs to provide sufficient torque to overcome the self-weight of the upper body and the operating load but also accurately control the rotation speed, start, and stop through the hydraulic valve group to ensure the continuity of actions such as excavation, slewing, and unloading. For example, during foundation pit excavation, the oil flow of the motor can be adjusted to achieve slow slewing alignment or rapid material transfer.
