Hardware Interpretation: Why can water cut steel?
Waterjet is a tool used in machining workshops. It uses high-pressure (very high) water jets to cut metal parts. This sounds incredible, but as long as the water flow is fast enough, it can indeed be used to cut metal.
The key to cutting metal with water is to keep the water flow concentrated. The waterjet is able to cut because the water flow is directed from a very narrow jeweled nozzle and sprayed at a very high pressure, so that the water flow remains concentrated. Unlike metal knives, water jets never become dull, nor do they become overheated.
